Marketing Finance Team:
Marketing Finance provides proactive commercial insights and transparency in marketing decisions for effective resource allocation across the value chain. The team also leads the development of strong commercial awareness within the marketing function as well as leads the development of best practice methodologies and tools.
The team is a key player in different spheres of the business, such as:
Leadership and development
Pricing and Excise;
Distribution and Trade Remuneration;
Marketing Effectiveness and Efficiency through financial Analyses and Insights of Brand/Trade Performance;
Resource Allocation Insights of Marketing Investments to support the Portfolio Strategy;
Contributes to the development of integrated business strategies in respect of portfolio, pricing, excise, trade;
Involved in the remuneration, marketing investment, and route to market (value chain) from a commercial perspective;
Leads the financial preparation of the annual marketing company plan, providing insights into financial resource allocation decisions based on portfolio alignment and on the efficiency and effectiveness of marketing investments. Provide key financial assumptions for pricing and excise planning;
Responsible for, along with Marketing and CORA, the development of the company’s Pricing & Excise strategy;
Participates in Strategic Review.
Ensures that transparent and objective financial insights is provided to support commercial decisions;
Recommendation is taken into account in advance of determining the course of action;
Contributes and provides insights into resource allocation decisions based on portfolio alignment effectiveness of spend and longer term brand equity building;
Ensures accurate and timely financial management and execution of a robust LE process.
The Application of the relevant leading edge tools available in the Group to facilitate timely business decisions, so to drive strategic and tactical decision making;
A clearly defined governance and risk guidelines to ensure controls are in place within Marketing activities (e.g. Agency and trade remuneration and terms, resource allocation, and pricing) and assists in the development and implementation of practical procedures;
The identification and fulfilment of opportunities for the improvement of Marketing and Finance processes (including Marketing planning and resource allocation), information systems and procedures in line with business development;
An increased financial awareness within Marketing, by build commercial awareness of the Finance function;
Driving an on-going process of innovation by bringing new commercial practices or systems from within BAT or other FMCG companies and sharing it with Region and other Opcos;
The contribution to the development of methodologies and tools from a group perspective;
A proactive member of the Regional Marketing Finance community.
The role is a bridge between the Finance and Marketing functions. It seeks to instil financial skills and awareness into the Marketing function, making clear the financial implications of decisions in an impartial manner.
Marketing Finance Manager:
The Marketing Finance Manager will be asked to deliver in the following spheres of the business:
Strategic review: P&E
P&E strategy: Participate in P&E strategy creation with CORA, FD, GM based on outcome Strategic Review
Support on growth plan initiated
Full MF review of Trade activities executed by MF Executive
P&E modelling: review impact of potential price increase for French value chain: Government, Tobacconist, Distributor and Industry
Monitor and challenge transfer price movements
Prepare Budget with Marketing Community
Responsible for strategic and financial analysis of business cases
Responsible for quarterly price list submission
