Supply Planner- 3rd party FTC (12 months)
Job purpose and key deliverables
We have an excellent opportunity for a Supply Planner - 3rd party to join our Operations function in our Supply Chain Service Centre in Southampton on a fixed-term contract.
To deliver the optimum Supply Plan for all commodities (Trading Goods, Finished Goods supplied from 3rd party vendor / contract manufacturers or Internal suppliers outside of SAP) for the End Markets within the Region.
To manage all relevant information for the customer to ensure they are timely informed of any issues / risk of supply.
To build and develop relationship with all external suppliers and act as single point of contact in BAT.
The Supply Planner - 3rd party works in close relationship with End Markets, Move, New Product Introduction (NPI), Finance, Procurement, Factories, 3rd Party Suppliers, Shipping Lines and Cross Regional Service Centres to ensure that the customer requirements are met.
Customer relationship, provide an effective and efficient customer service that interprets and satisfies all customer requirements through interface with all functions (Supply Chain, Finance, Factories etc), supporting Service Level Agreement (SLA) negotiations and implementations, drive short term improvements with the customers on operational processes.
Forecast management for the selected customers, validation of monthly S&OP figures from the customers, challenging the customer in case of deviations, understanding the strategy behind the forecast figures, build a close relationship with the customers as well as the Supply Chain Manager, ensure NPI projects are forecasted correctly.
Communicate the forecasted supply requirements to 3rd parties to ensure mid and long term supply capability and coordinate resolution of constraints.
Participate in the Weekly Control Cycle to drive issue resolution.
Monitoring customer complaints & proactively drive issue resolution.
Raising purchase orders on contract manufacturers and 3rd party suppliers for all products being managed by SN Planning Hub.
Order management for the selected customers, validation of order vs forecast, order entry including uploading in SAP ECC, spot order and order modification management and maintenance of order tracking logs.
Orders aligned with the production and shipment plan with orders maintained correctly across all instances of SAP.
Track orders with suppliers to ensure compliance with regard to inspections/import license & target dispatch in line with customer expectation.
Ensure that only approved service providers are used and monitor shipment plans to ensure the timely movement of commodities to customers’ nominated delivery points.
Produce accurate & timely documentation taking into account specific customer requirements with regard to legalization & payment terms (Letter of Credit, Bill of Exchange).
Communicate shipment progress to destination, liase with service providers to resolve delays.
Accurate weekly order status reporting to customer.
Performance measurement, measure and analyse KPI’s, proactively highlight upcoming potential issues and drive solutions to avoid miss-performances.
Coordination with procurement to introduce best practice processes.
Context / Environment
The Operations Function within BAT is currently going through a complex Global change program. This will result in globally aligned systems (e.g APO, SAP), processes and organisational structure.
The role has been created through the adoption of the so called “SNO model” whereby there is a distinction between Tactical and Strategic Planning processes. The role is part of the Tactical Planning layer.
To support this transformation the SN Planning Hub was established in the UK and shall be responsible of delivering Operation services to EEMEA and WE Commercial Regions. This involves a substantial change management program covering supply chain organization , process and culture across the SN Planning Hub .
The job holder is responsible to deliver the most optimum supply plan for each of the allocated Supplier/ End Market supply chains. Optimum in terms of resource (people & machine) utilisation and lowest possible cost while maintaining agreed service levels and inventory targets whilst supporting the factory productivity targets.
The SN Planning Hub serves over 170 customers under different business models, with complex logistical and supply issues, sourcing from 19+factories across the region where integration and standardisation of practices is required in order to realize the SAP benefits.
The role requires a strong base in continuos improvement to drive the change management required within the SN Planning Hub in order to deliver sustainable change and the end game Operations vision.The process improvement focuses on operational performance, ensuring that the necessary actions are taken to reduce costs, improve performance & optimise the utilisation of the company’s assets.
Relevant experience within FMCG company in managing planning processes;
SAP APO/ERP System knowledge and Excel skills are strong assets;
Basic procurement knowledge and negotiation skills;
Good cultural awareness;
Good analytical and planning skills;
Good organisation and prioritisation skills;
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Business economics or engineering graduate;
Desirable understanding of Planning and Purchasing processes;
