Corporate Finance Assistant Manager
Job purpose and key deliverables
British American Tobacco currently have an exciting new opportunity for a Corporate Assistant Manager, to be based in our Morocco office on a permanent basis.
Execute the delivery of specific elements of budgets and/or management accounts and/or financial accounts, ensuring quality products at all times. The role may involve certain management responsibilities, and may require liaison with internal and external stakeholders. The job holder will need to ensure process compliance so that source system data is complete and accurate as well as adhering to policies, procedures and accounting standards.
Manage and co-ordinates activities to:
Prepare and deliver accurate financial information (Budgets, Forecasts and Actual results), in line with group accounting principles. Analyse variances and financial modelling to accurately reflect the impact of proposed strategies on the operating results of the business and to support informed business decisions
Support and/or manage as appropriate all aspects of local financial environment, including cost centre control.
Prepare statutory accounts & reports. Manage the statutory accounts preparation and completion process in line with governance and reporting calendar. Perform detailed review of transactions and assess whether any issues exist for the external reporting of information
Identify, assess and, where appropriate implement efficiency improvements
Track action plan and support/lead cross functional teams dealing with control navigator initiatives and risk
If required; identify and initiate appropriate corrective action to prevent or address significant accounting issues
Prepare cash flow forecasting
Comply with local laws and regulations (including tax, minority interests, external regulatory reporting)
Act as business partner
Support all internal stakeholders as required
Full involvement with external audit as required for areas of responsibility
University Degree educated (Master or equivalent) with professional accountancy qualification equivalent (CA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA) in progress / qualified
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a global FMCG or similar dynamic operating environment, a big four experience will be a plus.
A thorough understanding and knowledge of relevant finance tools and systems
Excellent analytical skills
A good understanding of other functional areas, e.g. operations and marketing would be an advantage
An ability to work effectively with all levels of staff within the company and external parties
Ability to handle large volumes of information and present it in an accurate and relevant format.
Rational decision making and problem solving ability is essential
Ability to work under pressure and keep to tight deadlines.
Fluent English is a must
