Brand Marketing Intern – Vype
Job purpose and key deliverables
Next Generation Products (NGP) is part of British American Tobacco Group, focused on developing and delivering high quality nicotine alternatives to adult smokers in the key areas of Vapour and Tobacco Heating Products.

Support the brand marketing team in executing the critical areas of innovation and design (packaging, product) to deliver the brand’s strategy and growth in the UK and other geographies.
To support the delivery of the key projects in areas of:
Innovation => new product launches in 2018 for devices and eLiquids,
Design =>new designs for devices and liquids
Geographic Expansion => supporting the brand’s roll out globally (in 10+ markets tbc)
Delivering insightful competitive analyses (global competitors), presenting these monthly to x-functional teams with clear analyses, conclusions, opportunities / recommended actions
Based on competitive and consumer insights, working with the R&D and SP&I teams on product renovations / new product idea scoping, forming recommendations & respective briefs
Co-ordinating weekly innovation meetings – agenda, minutes sharing, action follow ups
Building, aligning and updating timelines across brand related innovation projects
Organising ‘blue sky’ ideation workshops – contacting vendors (speakers / facilitators), organising venues, agenda, collating captured ideas, issuing actions etc
Participate in shaping and building Brand strategy over 2-5 years’ time horizon
Developing and updating bank of competitive product samples
Generating relevant briefs (packaging, product, brand manifestos), communicating feedback / direction to design agencies
Liaising with internal technical teams and suppliers to assess feasibility & costing
Generating, aligning and updating project timelines
Budget tracking, coordinating scope of work, contracts & PO generation
Supporting local marketing teams in brand roll outs in their geographies (providing relevant information, briefing in new products / upcoming product or brand changes, responding to queries etc)
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:
Degree / ideally Master/MBA qualification – marketing or business studies
Previous experience in corporate environment essential (in one or more international blue chip FMCG companies and/or entrepreneurial consumer-facing companies)
Solid consumer understanding and the ability to translate it into effective programs
Good communication, analytical, project management skills and attention to details
Good relationship building / networking skills
R&D, Finance, SPI, OPS, TM&D, Digital, IT, Packaging agencies, Creative agencies, Legal, CORA
Regional marketing teams
Base salary from £20 000 per year
25 days annual leave pro rata
